We live in urgent times. The world moves fast, asking much of us — sometimes too much. But when we slow down, when we give ourselves permission to pause, we remember: there is another way.

If we are privileged enough to travel, Costa Rica offers us that reminder. It is pure and unbound, alive and free. It carries the spirit of pura vida — a joy of being that nourishes the soul.

This November, I invite you to join me at Alma de Ojochal, a boutique retreat center nestled between the jungle and the ocean. Together with my dear friends — now family — Esteban and Lilliam Fallas, we are creating a retreat that is both grounding and liberating. Their local roots and generosity of spirit give us a perspective of Costa Rica that is deeply personal, meaningful, and unforgettable.

At the heart of Ojochal, nestled between the lush jungle canopy and the endless rhythm of the Pacific Ocean, you’ll find Alma de Ojochal — a boutique retreat center created with deep love for this land and its people. Alma is more than a place to stay; it is a sanctuary where the spirit of Costa Rica is alive in every detail — the open-air spaces that invite the breeze, the flavors of local cuisine, the warmth of community, and the gentle song of the jungle. Here, comfort meets wild beauty, and rest becomes renewal.

November is a month of aliveness. The rains soften, leaving the land emerald and vibrant, flowers opening into color, and waterfalls flowing strong. The air holds both freshness and warmth, carrying the scent of earth and ocean. It is a season of beginnings — when the landscape is most lush, the skies clear into brilliant sunsets, and life hums with possibility. To be here in November is to feel nature’s abundance and generosity, to be reminded of cycles of renewal, and to rest into the rhythm of Pura Vida.

Where You’ll Rest + Restore

Each room at Alma de Ojochal is designed to hold you in comfort and connection. Thoughtfully curated spaces, infused with the spirit of Costa Rica, invite you to unwind, breathe deeply, and feel the rhythm of the jungle all around you. Whether you’re waking to the sound of birdsong, enjoying quiet moments on your balcony, or sinking into restful sleep, these accommodations are more than rooms — they are sanctuaries of care.

Need-to-Knows...

Your investment includes:

• 7 days / 6 nights accommodations in your chosen room or villa

• 3 nourishing meals daily made with fresh, local Costa Rican ingredients (all dietary needs accommodated: vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, keto, organic, etc.)

• Daily yoga, meditation, and workshops guided by Keri

• Round-trip group transportation between San José (SJO) and the retreat center

• Multiple group excursions to experience the beauty and culture of Costa Rica

• Costa Rican sales tax (already included in your total investment)

• A retreat experience lovingly co-created with local partners Lilliam and Esteban Fallas, whose decades of hospitality experience and organic coffee plantation, Fallas Coffee, add heart, legacy, and sustainability to your stay

Not included:

• Flights to and from Costa Rica (SJO airport)

• Additional private excursions (snorkeling, fishing, paragliding, beach days, etc.)

• Massage therapy (available upon request)

• Souvenirs, tips, or personal purchases

I feel beyond blessed to have crossed paths and to get to occasionally share space with Keri Kenney. You will never meet anyone as genuinely kind, compassionate, or passionate about her pursuits.  She is an amazing example of someone invested in doing her part to heal herself, those she shares space with, and at all levels of the community spaces in which she spends time.
